Poland’s public toilets have come a long way since communist times, when they were often little more than mere holes in the ground beneath a wooden frame with newspaper for wiping. But experts looking ahead to 2012, when Poland will co-host the European football championship, say there is still room for improvement _ even though restrooms today in this European Union member state often boast fashionable tiles, soft tissue paper and scented flowers.
